Apple heeft een officiële reactie naar buiten gebracht waarin het bedrijf reageert op de 'bandgate'. Volgens Apple is het buigen van een iPhone 6 Plus extreem zeldzaam en zijn er welgeteld 9 meldingen binnengekomen over een gebogen iPhone 6 Plus. Een storm in een glas water dus.
Verder is in de officiële reactie van Apple te lezen dat iPhones geproduceerd zijn met materialen om het toestel niet alleen mooi maar ook stevig te maken. Daarnaast wordt gemeld dat iPhones uitgebreid getest worden, ook op de eventuele mogelijkheid om het toetsel te buigen. Het volledige statement van Apple is hieronder te lezen:

We also perform rigorous tests throughout the entire development cycle including 3-point bending, pressure point cycling, sit, torsion, and user studies. iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus meet or exceed all of our high quality standards to endure everyday, real life use.
